About the event
Shame is one of the expressions of trauma that can be the most complex and difficult to untangle. This educational webinar is for anyone interested in understanding shame, its origins, and how it heals—including therapists, parents, people on their own healing journeys, and those who love someone with CPTSD.
Drawing on interpersonal neurobiology, memory reconsolidation, research on implicit emotional memory, and affective and relational neuroscience, we’ll explore what shame is, how it develops, the different ways it manifests, and what makes it so persistent. You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of shame and concrete examples of what healing can look like.
